As said by a report in the Polish newspaper Puls Biznesu, gambling has turned out to be huge business in Poland, with Poles about to spend $7.63 billion on gambling this year since players’ time spent increased twice as many as they did 2 years ago, and so did their beer and medical finances on gambling entertainment.
Figures released by the Ministry of Finance stated that Poles spent almost $5.35 billion on gambling last year, an increase of 47.5 % from 2006. It estimated that this rate is going to boost by an additional 40 % for 2008, or approximately $2.23 billion.

According to the newspaper, slot machines are the most well-liked form of gambling in Poland. There are 35,000 machines in almost 18,000 pubs, bars and service stations. Players spent $2.18 billion on fruit machines last year, almost double the number of that of 2006, whilst Totalisator Sportowy, the State-owned lottery company, got $1.24 billion in 2007, an increase of more than 20 % from the previous year.
