iMEGA’s got a strong advocateSeptember 7, 2008, 6:42 am (3 years ago)The iMEGA legal team getting ready for the force group's dispute to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act has been strengthened by the addition of a top Washington DC legal representative. Stephen A. Saltzburg, professor of law at George Washington University has been working with iMEGA’s legal team as it gets ready for its case for the US Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
“Prof. Salzburg is really one of the best,” stated Joe Brennan Jr., Chairman and CEO of iMEGA. “His experience is the excellent proof. We are lucky to have a genuine tough supporter in our side.” Saltzburg unites with lead counsel Eric M. Bernstein, renowned First Amendment and Internet Law attorney, and Edward Leyden, iMEGA’s head and chief counsel, as an essential part of iMEGA’s legal team in its confrontation against UIGEA with the US Department of Justice. “We constantly had a tough team representing us,” explained Brennan. “The inclusion of Professor Saltzburg to our listings shows that iMEGA is in earnest about meeting the US Department of Justice on equal terms in court, and that we have strong supporters delivering a persuasive dispute as to why the court is supposed to turn over this disturbing law.” Saltzburg is a previous delegate assistant attorney general in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, and chairman of the ABA Criminal Justice Section from 2007 to 2008. He joined GW Law in 1990, having formerly taught at the University of Virginia School of Law, and was named the 1st incumbent of the Class of 1962 Endowed Chair.
