A French court has decided against online companies regarding tennis game bets. This has certainly added more confusion to the monopolistic gambling plot in France. Once again it created a gap between France and EU principles.
French court banned and fined two internet sites for taking bets over Roland-Garros tennis championship in Paris. French Tennis Federation started a similar action in the Belgian city of Liege, which was suspended at the end of April.

These two internet, Unibet and Expekt are both based in Malta were fined a total of Euros 800 000 (US$1.24 million) to the French Tennis Federation which claimes the right to the popular sporting classic, in damages and interest. In the European Gaming Betting Association, both companies said that they are going to appeal the ruling.
