Celebs sign up for All-Star Poker ChallengeAugust 7, 2007, 1:52 pm (4 years ago)Spotlight 29 Casino has attracted some household names to its inaugural All-Star Poker Challenge which is to take place at the Coachella Valley on October 13 and 14.
The competition brings everyday players and their favorite celebrities together for a memorable event. The event has already attracted such big names as boxing champ Jorge Paez, comic legends Murray Langston and Gabe Kaplan, Coachella Mayor Eduardo Garcia, sports legend Bo Jackson and football hero Deacon Jones. The event begins at 2pm on October 13 and the last table will begin at 12pm on October 14. Rounds will be 30 minutes long ant the tournament will be No-Limit style. There is a Chevrolet/Cadillac/GMC car up for grabs if a Royal Flush is played as a winning hand at the final table. Buy-ins are already available at the casino box office or gift shop. The price is 560 dollars each with 500 dollars going to the prize fund, 50 dollars to the house and 10 dollars to dealer gratuity. Anyone is welcomed to play and all entrants will receive free entry to a live show by Kaplan and Langston on October 12. Tickets are available for 35 dollars for non entrants. Another main attraction of the event is a silent auction in aid of the Native American Land Conservancy. A number of interesting items will be auctioned including autographed sports memorabilia. The Poker Room at Coachella Valley also hosts a number of regular events for poker enthusiasts including the MVP Poker Challenge on Fridays, Poker Payoff on Saturdays and spontaneous Sit & Go Tournament Games every day.
