The National Lottery and poker are the most popular types of remote gambling. The Gambling Commission is the regulatory body for casinos, bingo, gaming machines and lotteries in the United Kingdom. These latest statistics mark an improved system whereby the Commission can distinguish between remote gambling methods, and determine the age and sex of gamblers. It also allows for the measurement of the participation in the various forms of gambling available remotely. Each survey is carried out over a three-month period and the results are published quarterly.
