Convention Organizer Of Online Casino Blames IndustrySeptember 20, 2006, 1:25 pm (5 years ago)Lesnick, organizer of the fourth annual Casino Affiliate Convention has said, “The biggest threat to this industry is not the United States government. The biggest threat to this industry is the little boys who were afraid to come here today.”
During his opening address at the Casino Affiliate Convention and Gaming Marketing Conference in Las Vegas last week, organizer Marc Lesnick maintained that the industry was in more danger from itself than it was from US authorities. Lesnick was persistent in disclosing further that he had come under mounting pressure to cancel the conference altogether. “The amount of pressure I received internally, from within the industry, was tremendous. There was no pressure externally,” he said. Nine of the event's eighteen main sponsors failed to turn up, and twenty one of the registered forty nine exhibitors refused to set up their booths. Attendees at the conference totaled approximately 500. Well, noticeably below last year’s total of 700. Lesnick’s comments were in reference to the fact that several affiliate programs had withdrawn from the conference as attendees, sponsors, and exhibitors amid rumors that US law enforcement officials had issued 400 accusations and planned to exercise them at the conference. If hard times are ahead and imminent, some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses and some don’t turn up at all! Ostrich while in fear, used to burry its head and will think that it is safe! Not the roaring Lion of thirst lands of Kalahari! Never!
